First of all, Thanks for the chance to participate in this year’s Patina Thunderdome. It’s been an absolute blast. It was tough picking a pair of boots for this journey. I chose a pair that I wanted to simply wear the hell out of and resole when needed. They may not show the scars of their journey as much as other natural leathers or a good rough out… but they are as smooth as butter and very much like lacing up a soft hug for my feet.
My wife named them Simon & Garfunkel. Even though they are an inanimate object, they have a personality and soul, or “sole” all their own. They have been worn doing anything from hiking the Appalachian mountains of Pennsylvania around my log home, to tromping through the streets of Mexico on a family trip. Much like a cozy bed at the end of a long day, these boots are a familiar comfort to my weary form: one I hope to enjoy for years to come.
