Chippewa 11" Engineer Boot

While many people will have stories of all the places their boots have taken them over the last 6 months, my Chippewas have taken me on a different journey. 2022 was a particularly hard year for me both mentally and physically. In June I had learned that my slothy and isolated lifestyle over the prior 2 years had started to cause damage to my liver. I knew that I had to start making changes to my lifestyle to be more active. At the same time I had started getting involved in this community of boots and better dressing and discovered that the coolest stuff is rarely made in sizes that fit me and even when it is it usually doesn't look good.  So the journey for better health and to fit into better Jawnz had started. While I'll admit that much of my weight loss has been due to eating healthier, the part that pertains to the Thunderdome has been increasing my activity.  I've never liked to go to the gym and stand on a treadmill or lift weights. Instead I walked, I walked a lot, over the last 6 months I went from hardly walking a ½ mile daily to now 3-4 miles 5 days a week. On days where I didn't want to go for a walk I would be looking at other's progress on their boots and get the initiative to keep on going. At around the 4 month mark I thought about giving up and then I saw the owner of Ship John post his beautifully well worn roughout Mr. Lous and I had a new goal to achieve with my roughout engineers. Since then I have only worn the boots more and walked farther hoping for them to someday achieve the greatness I see in those boots.   Over the last 6 months I've lost 50 pounds, just eating a little better and walking rain or shine. Almost all those miles have been in my Chippewas. I still have a way to go on my journey for physical and mental health but these boots and the friends I've made in this group have taken me a long way in the right direction. I know that some will grow tired of their boots after 6 months, but my love for these boots has only grown fonder.
