Horween English Tan Essex
I competed in Tan Essex Grant Stone Diesel boots for the 2nd Dome. The journey with my pair for the last six months has been interesting and introspective. In the process of really getting to know these boots, I realized that the combination of the leather and pattern were a little too “smart casual” for the types of heritage workwear I’m in. Even though they didn’t always go perfectly with what I might have been wearing, I still found myself reaching for them because of how comfortable they were. In turn, I dialed in my personal style through these boots. They informed a few great footwear and clothing purchases throughout the Dome by looking at what I liked and didn’t like about the look the boots gave me. I’m glad I pushed these boots hard, and am extremely happy with where they ended up. The Tan Essex leather has toasted to a lovely mid brown, the footbed has conformed to my foot wonderfully, and the overall shape of the boot has gone from very smart casual, to giving hints of Victorian chimney sweep. I loved participating in this, and will definitely be walking along side you all again in October.
