My plan on breaking in the boots during my first trip to NYC did not work out as the shipping got delayed. Luckily my father helped with both picking up and taking the first pictures of the boots so I still could participate, which I am very thankfull for. The thin and soft leather on these boots got broken in really fast. I caught myself unintentionally babying them in many situations, but they've held up like nothing. They been on my feet every single day exept when they needed to dry, which was mostly during the night anyway. As boots are made for walking, that is what they've done. To the grocery store, in the woods, in cities taking photographs, to concerts and art exhibitions. I have followed someone dear through their ending, - sold a car for the first time, walked up a local mountain in freezing cold waiting to see northern lights. - and I have ridden my Suzuki fz50 to work everyday in mostly rain and snow. Once a week i pick out pebbles from the lug sole. -Not just because I'm weird, but also because I go alot into private homes assembling hospital beds, repairing wheelchairs and such. I buff the sole sides and welt with a slightly stiff brush and then the upper with a soft brush. After the months pictures are taken I apply a light coating of Jim Green leather balsam. I think It works well without changing the apperance of the leather as much. In the middle of snow season i noticed a little delamination on one of the toplifts, so i applyed two coats of a waxblend around the sole sides for protection. I really love things that are built to last, the care that comes with them and the character it provides. It has been a fun and memorable experience seeing both my own and all the other pairs development through this race. -Fjaagewaage
