Maryam Brown Washed Horse
I was too late. Some genius on the internet came up with a contest focusing on how cool boots can look after wearing them a ton, and I found out too late to enter! But wait, it started again bigger and better with this cool searchable app. I was so excited, though not a single person in my actual physical life understood what the contest was about. First, I found these boots on Brooklyn Clothing that looked like they had some potential. These were my firsr pair of Viberg boots, and I didn’t know much about their country boot pattern. The service boot pattern was much more popular and even had some winners last year, but with this specific washed horsebutt, having the expansive vamp to show it off seemed like a cool idea. I went for it. They arrived with a much lighter color than i expexed and a completely unpredictable grain pattern. One boot even had these long lines sweeping lines that were so unique. Well, while had some resevations, the potential still seemed to be present. OK, I went straight to work with the new boots and decided a 24 hr shift would be fine. What could go wrong? They felt great on 12 hr days. Well, I made it through with only minor injuries! Next, I spent the next 6 mo wearing these boots to work daily for my standard work week and most days off as well. So, my work isn’t the most physically demanding, but I do walk a large amount and have the potential for stains. I don’t usually say much about my work, but it does apply to the experience of these boots. I am a trauma surgeon, and wearing these boots for 6 mo straight in the ER, OR, ICU, and across the entire hospital has been an unforgetable experience. I don’t try to wear them all 30 hrs of a “24 hr” shift anymore but 75% of these shifts at least. They are super comfortable now and look great. This leather has gained so much character, and the pattern/color is so versatile. They go with all outfits and dress up or down. This contest has been so fun. Thanks everyone, and I’m out of charcters
