Horween Cinnamon Waxed Flesh
Ah, what could have been. I got a solid first month when they shaped to my foot and a solid last month when I was out finally doing some respectably long hikes. It was the heart of the dome period that was more of a challenge for me. First the broken toe when i couldn’t even put these on for over two months, then crazy CA storms that closed all the parks where i hike (still dealing with closures to this day, but fortunately some are back open). My first pair of waxed flesh, and i have to say the wax coating is much longer lasting than i expected. These for pretty scrapped up several times and marks mainly brushed out, kind of like CXL. it took some serious brushing, which may have kept the leather from progressing theough to the rough out by smoothing out the wear, but it seemed like the right way to care for it, and jept them more water proof for longer (i think) which was bery helpful with all the rain we are getting. i can see now that I am right on thr edge where the wax coating is very thin all over and in a few months of wear the rough out will be popping out all over. just not there quite yet. But great hiking boots. Between these and a pair of White’s Cruisers, i can’t see any reason to wear my Merrell’s ever again. these are far better boots and look even better with each hike i take. Win-win.
