Seidel Burgundy Double Shot arrives fairly stiff and beefy. The smell is slightly chemically but not unpleasant. They require a fair amount of break-in time to loosen up the stiffness but that being said they’re still pretty comfortable straight out of the box. The pull-up quality is very good; most minor scratches, if you want to, you can just lick your finger and rub them right out. The variations in color across the boot are gorgeous, it’s a dreamy rich burgundy, and the brass hardware and white stitching provide nice contrast and complement the burgundy. I’m not a huge fan of crepe soles so when they need to be resoled I’ll put some kind of lug sole on them, but I think they look fine on this boot. No serious QC issues at all; if you wanted to be nitpicky, the stitching is not perfectly symmetrical in one or two spots but it’s virtually unnoticeable. These are mostly worn for casual city walking, I haven’t done anything adventurous with them. Very happy with them overall.
