Horween British Tan Chromexcel
When I decided to enter this year’s Patina Thunderdome, I had one small problem: the boot I had planned to wear was unexpectedly not going to arrive in time. I had a weekend to find a replacement. Luckily, Division Road in Scottsville, VA was having an event a couple of hours away. I made the drive and had dozens of quality heritage choices at my fingertips. Nearly all were from makers I had never been exposed to before. This was kind of stressful since I would be wearing this pair dozens of times over the next six months and the fit had to be right. In the end, I found this amazing pair by White’s from Spokane, WA. The company had a few guys at the event so I was able to learn all about their story and get professionally fit. I really was pretty blown away right off the bat. They quickly became a go to in my rotation and I have already added a second pair of Stevens boots to the collection. Whatever happens with this competition, I have already won. I have been introduced to an amazing maker that I will be enjoying for many years to come. I found this maker thanks to a tremendous shop and their friendly and knowledgable staff who helped me find the perfect product for my needs. I know I will always be able to count on them for the best recommendations in the future. They often say, it’s not the destination, it’s the journey, and this journey in these boots has been a fulfilling one.
