Nicks Handmade Boots
I love waxed flesh leather design(make up) so I decided to see just how durable it is. I went 10” to try and allow for the waxed flesh to show a transition as I wore them.
I knew my length and with from previous builds. I chose 55 to see if it would help with my back and knee pains.
Great. Nicks was updating their website while I ordered this pair and let me say it was no issue. Now with the new design it’s even better.
I started wearing these boots for the 24/25 Dome. Starting this Dome I’ve been on storm restoring power to NC and SC after the devastation of Hurricane Helene. It’s been 16+ hour days of trekking through mountain sides and bucket work.
The resiliency of this leather is unbelievable. It’s an easy leather to break in yet it’s durable for all occasions. I haven’t brushed them as I haven’t gotten them swamped with mud. In just 5 days at 16+ hours a day I’ve watched this leather transition to the point where my BWF boots were in 1 month.
The fit is almost perfect. For my first 55 last it’s been an adjustment from the HNW last. I had minor heel slip that’s resolved over time with long hours of wear.
The design is perfect. It’s a MTO to look and feel similar to the traditional Builder Pro Nicks offers.
Absolutely love the sole. By far my absolute favorite full lug sole.
It’s an adjustment from a traditional block heel on an HNW last.
I love this boot and the leather.
