Third pair of Grant Stone shoes and I was a little nervous about sizing. My thunderdome boots from last year ended up a little big (12 compared to my Brannock 12.5). I got a pair of traveler loafers in 11.5 that are good sockless. I ordered early so I’d be able to exchange, but the 11.5 in the chukkas was great. Shipping took around five days to Washington state.
I wore the boots whenever I went out but wear shippers inside. And since I’m working from home, that means they weren’t actually on my feet that much. Just a handful of miles each day walking the dogs. The suede had no problems with rain, but crepe weather soles are definitely not the thing to wear in snow!
The problem with good suede is that it doesn’t wear much. The color darkened slightly and took on some blue from my jeans. I used a suede brush to rub out minor stains.
Grant Stone makes really really good footwear. Top quality construction, durability, and everything.
Barely wore, but horrible in snow.
Didn’t show a lot of patina, but these are great boots and they’re going to last for years.
