Love Veg tan leathers and Grant Stone happened to be doing a sale at the time.
I figured that the sizing would be similar to Alden Trubalance, and I was right, perhaps slightly narrower in the toe.
I ordered directly from Grant Stone, they were doing a discount on this particular makeup
I’ve worn this pair nearly everyday for 5 months, most of the time has been spent in my office, but I also went on hikes, did lots of gardening, and traveling.
It was fairly stiff and uncomfortable at first, but it broke in beautifully and want from a bright tan to a delicious golden brown over the course of 5 months. Only conditioned twice in 5 months, and I don’t even think that was necessary.
Once broken in they have become extremely comfortable, they were stiff and felt like casts at first, due to the nature of the vegetable tanned leather used.
Grant stone has done a fantastic job finishing there boots, this one was no exception. Over time some stitches on the tongue and near the eyelets have worn off, but nothing too major.
I’m not partial to leather soles, I would have preferred this makeup with a mini lug vibram sole. I only fell once lol, but overall they provided adequate traction once scuffed up, just be careful on carpet. They have worn quite significantly over the last 5 months, particularly at the toe which has seen all of the stitching wear away. This is to be expected with a leather sole.
I loved wearing this pair, especially once patina started to acquire, and the darkening process. I would absolutely recommend, I just pray for more sole options in the future @Grant Stone
