Great Escape indeed.

I have worn my boots near daily. They really are like wearing covers for my feet by maintaining the comfort of being barefoot at home but everywhere I go. They have molded quite nicely to my daily life. I'm a dad. I take my 6 year olds to school, after school events, after school sport activities and weekend sport activities. I work in the city. I commute from the suburbs. I travel sometimes for work and for play. These "Great Escapes" have been a perfect travel companion to either throw in my bag or wear on the plane, train or in the car when I travel. I walk a lot daily either in the city or the suburbs and these boots don't remind me that I'm wearing them.

The brown Guidi horsebutt has really aged like fine wine. The color has deepened from a light red brown to a darker brown with some beautiful marbling of highs and lows. There was no break in with this leather. It is very soft and durable. The rolls came almost immediately after a few days of wear.

This is very comfortable last. The toe box is low volume but generous in width. I went half down and up a width as I do in all of my boots from this brand. I can wear this boot daily with no issues.

The boots are beautifully made and I expect them to stand the test of time. They are incredibly light and comfortable. The idea of just throwing on a pair of shoes like mere covers for your feet is apt here. The design is like a modified boondocker, sleek with some character from the Munson like last. The construction and finishing are fantastic with the use of high quality materials. You really can tell the boots will stand the test of time.

I went with semi double leather soles. The soles are extremely comfortable. They have been incredibly durable even in rain. I don't expect to resole for a very long time.

Iron Boots makes incredible boots. You can tell how much love they put into making a great quality product. The attention to detail is astounding in a time where a lot of people cut corners.
