I wanted an extremely durable boot with excellent support.
I sized down slightly from my previous pair of Nick's because they were a tad too wide.
Super easy to order online
I wear these boots for my M-F job in public works. The work I do varies. Some days I'm doing various jobs or projects on my feet on asphalt or concrete. Some days I'm operating machinery or driving a truck. This past month has been very dry and dusty. They get wet occasionally when I'm cleaning equipment, but have not been in the rain yet.
The 64 Monarch has started to darken slightly in this first month, and has begun to pick up hints of indigo from my raw denim jeans I wear to work. The leather is surprisingly soft and supple amd has quickly formed around my foot.
I sized down a width to an E from my previous pair of Nick's. I used a tailors tape and measured around the widest part of my foot and compared that to Nicks sizing chart. I measured between the E and EE. I found that once broken in, the EE was too loose. The E was a bit snug initially, but feels perfect now. For the length I went a half size down from my sneakers and mass produced boots. The 10.5 is spot on for me. The 55 last is giving me some problems. I feel that I'm noticing the bulge under my arch and it causes some discomfort throughout the day. I'm hoping this will subside and the footbed further developed.
These boots are beasts! Built like tanks and my feet feel indestructible in them. I love the look of these boots
I can hardly tell a difference between this sole and the honey lug sole. It has excellent traction off road amd is comfortable enough to stand in all day on hard surfaces. I love the look of the aggressive beefy lugs.
The sole is super aggressive and is tough as hell. It has great traction off road and is comfortable enough to work on hard surfaces all day.
Nicks is an amazing boot company with excellent customer service.
