I used these boots for everything including business meetings in Denver, a weekend getaway to Manitou Springs and Pikes Peak (did not climb the stairs), a bunch of trips to Houston, and chasing my kids around the yard. Most of the patina is from building jumps at my miniature outlaw motocross track in the field next to the local homeless camp. Full disclosure; I had to glue one of the foam footbeds back down after about 4 months of wear but I’m beating the heck out of them for the dome so take it with a grain of salt.
This leather is instantly comfortable, breathable, stretches to your foot. Not really a work leather that will protect you on a motorcycle if you’re used to horse hide but it’s much more comfortable. Instant patina and fun to shine. I only conditioned them once.
It’s built really well but it doesn’t have a leather foot bed. This isn’t necessarily a problem, I could probably run a 8 minute mile in these but, if you get the inside soaking wet the foam will probably get messed up eventually where a leather insole would hold up better.
For under $300 I’d recommend them for my patina homies maybe looking to get into their first pair of cowboy boots. You will instantly have cool patina monsters for your Nashville trip or whatever. For the hardcore cowboys, even though the boots are super solid everywhere else, the foam footbed is a liability, I’d say stick to leather footbed options.
