I loved the color of the leather, the style and shape of the boot, and the overall fit. I originally ordered the men's version, but they were just too loose. I had originally wanted something with a bit more traction.
We just ordered my regular boot size.
Very easy to exchange and quick processing and delivery.
I initially tried the natural waxy commander with the commando sole, but they were just a little too big. I wanted more traction because we like to walk and hike a lot. I ended up with the Nora's because they are pretty and versatile for casual and dressy wear. I wore these boots mostly as casual boots. Lots of urban wear, errends, and paved paths. I did end up wearing them in the snow and ice a bit, because my uncle needed his walkway and driveway shoveled, but he didn't tell me that before I went over to his house. He lives pretty close and my house didn't have any snow left, so I didn't think to take other footwear with me. Did some house projects and yard projects as well. Lots of waiting room wear and only a couple of hikes on mostly paved paths. Lots of walking the dogs and strolling through little towns and parks. Went on a couple or road trips with them, so they've been to 15 states.
I love how these boots have aged. The patina is gorgeous. They have darkened with wear, and the creases add a lot of character. Thankfully, most of the scratches buffed out when I wiped them down. I tend to trip over the dogs and random sticks. Every scratch tells a story though, so I don't mind. I wore them around the house for short periods of time the first week and then started wearing them on short errends. They seemed to break in fairly easily. I wore them on a hike after a month and did fine. I tend to wear them 3-5 days a week for at least an hour, but usually 2-6 hours. The longest I've worn them at a time was 14 hours. I've made sure to let them dry if they've gotten wet, and I wipe or brush off any dirt and debris. They've not needed any conditioning. I was worried about some water damage after shoveling my uncles driveway, but they seem to be fine now. They are comfortable, durable, and my feet have not gotten overly hot, even in hot weather and long walks.
These boots are very comfortable and fit nicely. I have relatively narrow feet, so with these boots I can wear both thin socks for casual errends, and thicker socks if I'm expecting to wear them for long periods of time or especially in the cold. They support my feet and ankles. My arches have not had any problems with these boots. Nothing is cramped, and nothing is too loose. They have been great for dressing up or down. I've mostly worn them with jeans, but they go great with slacks and skirts/dresses as well.
These boots are beautiful. They are well made, and every little detail is lovely. I especially love how the eyelets look with the darkened patina. Very classy boots!
As I expected, these didn't have great traction in slippery conditions, but I also tried to avoid wearing them in those conditions as much as possible. They were a little slick going from wet pavement to most stores flooring, but that was okay. They were great for walking on concrete, lawn, asphalt, compacted dirt, tile, most everywhere that wasn't slick. They look really nice.
I love these boots. They have been comfortable and reliable. There aren't enough womens options out there, but I'm glad I went with these. They just look really nice! These will definitely last a very long time and I will get a lot of wear from them. I wore these on road trips, to the beach, up a mountain, around my neighborhood, walking the dogs, on dates with my husband, shopping and exploring new places. I also wore them for a few house and yard projects. I didn't wear them as aggressively as I normally would with a go-to, all around boot. But that's because we just weren't able to go do as much of the things we normally would. So, most of the patina is just from walking on concrete. Almost daily 2-4 mile walks. This year was a lot of fun because my husband and I gave my dad a pair of boots and talked him into joining the thunder dome with us.
