Nicks Handmade Boots
I wanted a rugged Chelsea and I already had a pair of urban loggers so when Nick's put these out there I jumped on them.
I went with the same size I wear in urban loggers
Pretty easy. Just went to the Nick's site and it was as simple as any other boot.
I wore them all over the place in all conditions
Really really nice. Only conditioned them once. Brushed them occasionally. Break in wasn't that bad. Developed some nice fades and discoloration in the places where my feet abuse boots. They broke in after about 20-25 hours.
The fit is too loose. I should have dropped down to a smaller size. Didn't realize it until they were broken in. So, the heel slipped too much, but the arch and toe box were fine.
All good. I wished that I had picked block heels, but they are lovely boots. I sorta wish they were calf lined so they would be easier to get on and off.
I like this sole. I have it on a few pairs of boots. It wears well and isn't overly hard.
I like Nick's boots. I think I need to get a pair that has a shorter heel. Because I couldn't wear the left boot because of an Achilles injury, the wear and break-in was uneven and hard to tolerate for a couple months. They were very stiff in the soles and could probably do with one less layer of leather without compromising anything. Love the 1964 leather!
