Oak Street Bootmakers
Spent a a few days looking for a pair, saw these and knew they were the ones.
Oakstreet only produces standard sizes. I originally ordered a size up just in case. When trying on, they were a bit big, but they replaced them with the size I needed.
Above average. Customer service was exceptional when requesting a replacement.
These were my everyday boots that I wore in the office, around town, and occasionally during minor yard work. While either sitting for extended periods of time or walking long distances the comfort level exceeded expectations. They visited many states including a road-trip from Florida to Pennsylvania. They endeavored the blistering summer sun in Florida, the chilling ice of Missouri, and tedious rain in Philadelphia.
When originally purchased they were quite stiff and a little uncomfortable. After about a week of wear they were broken in and conformed to the feet. They scuffed quite easily, but with some minor conditioning periodically, the scuffs blended in well. With an original latte start they evolved to a pleasant auburn.
I typically wear a boot sock of some sort, but not always. Regardless of the sock they fit well. After the break in period, I have no complaints whatsoever regarding the fit.
The stitching shows no sign of giving other than some fraying around the ankle that is cosmetic. Neither the rubber heal or the leather insole shoes any major sign of wear. After months of daily wear the boots held together well.
At first I wasn’t a fan. On any non-porous surface they were quite slippery with almost no traction. Within a month the slippery outside edge ground into a rough surface and I haven’t had any problems since.
I highly recommend these for anyone looking for an everyday boot, whether for future Thuderdome entry or not. They were a truly enjoyable pair that I never had to wonder if I shouldn’t wear from the outside circumstances. This was my first pair of Oakstreet boots, but it will likely not be the last.
