Baker's Boots and Clothing
These are my first pair of custom boots after giving up on my Aldens and Allen Edmonds that did not fit me right. I browsed the web for split-sized boots, and I discovered White's. I saw a makeup from a Japanese site I loved, and I ordered the exact specifications from Baker's . You could say this is my first plunge into the "deep end" of footwear.
Kyle at Baker's sized me via foot tracing and circumferential measurements.
I'll never forget the experience ordering this pair on the old Baker's website, seeing all the dropdowns and options for all the different specs. Finalizing the configuration of a pair of custom White's is a no simple task for someone first-time ordering MTO boots. I spent hours Googling photos of terms such as "single vs. double midsole," all the leather options, and toe structure options—details I have never thought about before. This ordering experience has been a huge inspiration for starting Patina Project a few years later.
Haven't put these on in awhile, and after wearing them again I think they're more comfortable than I remember. With my current fit preferences, I think the F width actually suits me better than my newer FF width boots in the 55 last. While there is less room for my pinky toes, it fits the ball of my feet more snugly. Arch is support is also present while not causing discomfort, unlike my Nicks pair in their 55 last.
