Sagara
Nuda Naturale Boondockers
Sagara
I was wanting a pair of RO Boondockers, and was balking at $900+ for the Withered Fig 2040. These were about $540 shipped from Sagara.
I purchased a size 8 Sagara Valiant from S&S filling their guidelines and it was too small. The size 42 was the next whole size up since several ID makers do not have a size 41.5
I emailed Satria @ Sagara and he was extremely helpful, took my order and my pair was shipped in 3 business days. The Sagara team has been very responsive.
I’ve only worn around the house in the 2 days that I’ve owned these, however I plan on wearing to work more often.
It is extremely soft, Zero breakin required.
Size 42 is my accurate size on the Morgan last, however since this is a Boondocker I would have appreciated if they had added more lateral side room in the toebox.
They should definitely revamp the size of the facings and not use a double midsole. Both of those detract from an otherwise great boot. The construction is good, stitching is good, shape is good. All other aspects besides the pattern and the double midsole are great.
The leather sole is VERY thick since they used a double midsole. If I were to MTO this pair I would have done single midsole, as double is way too thick. I’m not quite sure why the double midsole trend came about, but it makes the sole very stiff.
They need to work on the pattern, as the facings are much too long. It’s not an issue with the instep, the facings are just way too long and overlap. This is not an issue on the Valiant 2 boot from Sagara, also on the Morgan last.
