I wanted a plain-toe boot since all of my other boots at the time had cap-toes. Saw this model featured by WeltedWare in a different leather and immediately liked the shape and lines. Throwing in the stairschoen welt, I wanted something straightforward but with small details that added complexity. I also hate pull tabs so had them make the pair without them.
Worked on sizing through email with House of Agin using brannock size.
Incredible customer service and easy custom ordering process. 6 month wait but the quoted time was quite accurate.
Wore these pretty much anytime I left the house. I work in a kitchen so I couldn't wear them at work unfortunately. I was able to get some great walks in wearing them, rain and snow were no problem. I even got in some short hikes that really put them through their paces.
This leather was far more resilient than I was expecting. Held up amazing so far. Most drastic is the darkening around the toe and vamp area. This horsebutt developed some character but will really come alive after a few more months. I would brush regularly and conditioned them twice. Break in was a little long but after about 2 weeks of short but daily wear, they started to soften up. The foot bed is still a very hard temper so the feel underfoot is very solid, bordering on hard.
