I’ve worn these daily, in the office, around town, and in the garden. They’ve been caked in mud almost weekly.
These have darkened significantly, especially where they’ve been caked with garden dirt—It may be hard to make out in the photos, but this is especially so in some of the creases, even higher on the ankle. The leather broke in quickly, more so than other cxl boots I’ve owned. As for care: I wiped them down when they got muddy, conditioned them every six weeks or so, and brushed them every few weeks.
The 4497 is almost always a safe choice for me. As I’ve aged, I’ve had to resort to cushioned insoles. Once these broke in, they were super comfortable.
These are true workhorse boots: sturdy & solid. I’ll need to get them resolved. But only because I’ve ground them down. I expect to have them in rotation for years to come.
It’s held up well. I’ve murdered the heels, which is likely a result of my wonky gait. These will go off to the cobbler soon.
I have several pairs of Stows. These have by far been my favorite pair, and so hope to see Trickers produce more models either interesting leathers.
