Too much reading and too many YouTube videos made this boot an object of desire, but the cost new was an issue and I wasn't finding one on the used market that gave me value. These popped up on Reddit one day as a sizing error for the original owner. They were LNIB and listed at 25% off the original price. They were mine within an hour of listing
I did too much reading and scouring of YouTube for my own good . I own a pair of Perrys in 9.5E so I knew the length would be good and had faith that the D width on the narrow last would be snug but not uncomfortable.
I bought these off of Reddit, literally new at more than a reasonable price as they were made to the wrong spec for the original purchaser.
I use these in my everyday life as part of a rotation. They've been to work in an academic setting, out on the town, on television and just out and about.
These fit my feet as though they were made for me - with thin socks. The MP last is slim in comparison to the other White's offerings and the sizing advice is one down in length and one up in width. Availability and pricing and some research made me ignore that advice and buy on faith. The lower arch and forgiving nature of CXL means that all the important parts line up and my feet feel great in them...but I think half down from Brannock in the standard width would be a preferable fit
These were a grail boot for me. There's nothing not to like about the design and the commando half soles elevate it to another level. The finishing on this pair is perfect with not a stitch out of place and the symmetry of the pair (height, toecap alignment etc) is top class
