Hiker
Viberg Archive Sale
When I first went to the Viberg.com website to, of course, check out the available "Service Boot®" options, nothing caught my eye faster than that "Hiker" profile. I immediately fell in love...However, obviously, everyone starts with a service boot if they are dropping gobs of cash on a Berg product, am I right? So that's what I did, keeping in mind that one day I'm definitely going to need that Hiking boot!
Most say it fits much like the 2030 last, I found this to be mostly true with a little extra toe room.
Extremely hectic and perspiration inducing.
At the 3 month mark, I could finally start putting miles on these boots. They truly can be, and at least in my case, are now real hiking boots. 30+ miles a week for the last 2 months, holding up against my river adjacent, multi-terrain, trail blazing. Durability-wise, I am very impressed. I have much experience tearing through hiking boots, and these things put to shame some of the best cemented hikers on the market (I won't name names...) The Hiker just keeps pushing, and the Commando soles are straight beasts!
I had no idea how amazingly this Horween hide was gonna hold up. So waxy, extremely resistant, somewhat self-healing, and tough. Through all of my "Dome Work" and in these final photos, I still have not conditioned them, just horse brushin' and spit-shinin'. Horween Natty Dub has impressed me beyond belief. The burnishing is unreal, and it shines up easy. Can't wait to see how this leather progresses in the years to come.
Amazing! Think of it as wearing the 2030 last with twice the sock.
The design, construction, and quality is top notch! These will outlast, by far, any cemented hiking boot on the market (IMHO). & whomever clicked the leather on these needs a raise!
The commando sole is absolutely meant to be put through the ringer! And boy, does it have grip!
I love these boots!
