These are the best fitting boots I have ever worn. It probably helped that I got them sized at Viberg in Victoria, BC Canada. My right foot is a little bigger than my left and they both fit like custom sized boots. The 2040 last is the one for me.
Brooklyn Clothing
I’ve always liked the lighter coloured roughout leather, and Viberg is a “local” company here on Vancouver Island.
I went to Viberg in Victoria,BC and got sized. - then ordered online.
I ordered from Brooklyn Clothing online and they were delivered 4 days later. Exactly what I expected!
I took these boots as my only footwear to Nepal and Thailand for 6 weeks. They performed amazingly well and were very comfortable in any situation I threw at them. Trekking in the Himalayas is very demanding on your body and the gear you use. These boots were great in all conditions and in varied terrains.
These boots were very comfortable and broken in before I went on the trip, so I wasn’t worried about bringing them with me. There was no real care routine while travelling other than slapping the dust out of them every once in a while. The colour has darkened a bit and the heel has become a little shiny from rubbing on my pants. There are a couple of darker spots on the left boots from motorcycle riding while in Thailand, but I smile knowing how much fun I had. The heels have worn down a bit from all the walking and the flat waxed laces are starting to fray. Other than that, they are in great condition and have many years of life still in them.
As I said in the first review, these are probably the most comfortable boots that I have ever worn. Everything just feels right especially in demanding situations and conditions. I use Marino wool socks when wearing them and they are the perfect match for these boots.
Everything is done to the highest standards and that’s why I bought them. These are my grail boots!
There is a bit of wear on the heels but that is to be expected. The traction is incredible on uneven rocky staircases, loose dirt and gravel. I don’t even think about them when walking on cement, gravel or trails. The only downside that I have found is that small stones get stuck in the heel tread. Otherwise they are great.
Great traction in various demanding situations. Heel is starting to wear a bit, but this is to be expected. I wore them all day every day and they felt great. Small stone get stuck in the heel tread is the only downside.
I would buy these boots again in a heartbeat if anything happened to them. Couldn’t ask for a better pair of boots. Highly recommended!
