I have always liked the more rugged style, but I wanted something that would not get rocks stuck in the lugs as frequently. Also, with the lower shaft, this is less heavy than the full-size version.
I use the online sizing guide with their measurements specifically. I also had experience with their modified Barrie last.
How are these online, and they said there was a five month wait. I called initially to confirm they were in stock before watering. I called them back after being notified of the weight, and they were able to find a pair and send to me.
I use these mostly outdoors and with casual wear.
And definitely has a longer break-in, and shows where a little bit faster than something like Chromexel. You can’t just brush out the scratches. It is a very thick leather, and will still wear very hard. Am I require a little bit more conditioning than Chromexel.
The last is known for its arch support. I actually really liked this. My foot tends to do well with a high arch support. These are one of the only boots that I do not have an insert inside. After the initial break in, I can wear these a full workday. I can’t quite wear them for 24 hours straight like my other boots. The tow box room is really nice with the structured toe.
My pair are very cleanly made. I had no issues with quality control. No squeak when I walked. The stitching is all very even.
This soul has a good combination of the slight lug, but nothing that will pick up rocks. It was very durable with wear. Traction in the rain can sometimes be tricky with these harder soles.
I’m really looking forward to wearing these long-term. I almost prefer them to the hand welted version.
